What is an Elegant Woman?

An elegant woman epitomizes elegance. She has a "classy" aura around her and is refined from the inside out. This woman has the unique ability to navigate social and professional scenarios with grace and class.

In addition, she continues to find new ways to elevate herself through self-improvement and higher learning. An elegant woman is confident in her own skin and is a woman of INTEGRITY. She is rooted in the Word of God in Christ Jesus and commands respect wherever she goes! She is wise, kind, compassionate, and patient.

Simply put, an elegant woman knows that elegance is not just about how she looks or what she wears; it's the whole package, inside and out. It's in her mannerisms and in how she treats other people.

Here are just 45 characteristics of the elegant woman:

1. She has her own style and dresses appropriately for every occasion.

2. Practices modesty and moderation in all aspects of life.

3. Does not compare herself with others.

4. Has good manners.

5. Chooses quality over quantity.

6. Exhibits self-confidence and self-control.

7. She is not contrived but authentic to herself.

8. She subtly uses makeup to enhance her natural beauty, not hide it.

9. Looks to other women for inspiration, not competition.

10. Has a heart of gratitude.

11. Does not complain but counts all her blessings.

12. Avoids ungodly chatter and gossip but engages in intelligent & uplifting conversation.

13. She is not judgmental.

14. She practices discretion and does not share everything about herself with others.

15. She minds her business, and she stays busy with her hands.

16. She is kind with her words about others.

17. She is not loud or obnoxious.

18. She stands up for what she believes in, even if she must stand alone.

19. She does not boast, but glorifies God in Christ Jesus.

20. She enjoys learning new things.

21. She is always mindful of children. She does not speak down to them but engages at an appropriate level, always nurturing, compassionate, and understanding.

22. She recognizes her own areas of weakness and continually works on them.

23. She respects other people's time and avoids being late.

24. She respects and helps the elderly.

25. She defends the weak and those who cannot speak up for themselves.

26. She gracefully and calmly stands up to disrespectful people, while also setting healthy boundaries for herself.

27. She doesn't try to control other people.

28. She is comfortable with her own company and is not needy or clingy.

29. Doesn't always have to have the last word or always be right.

30. She gives to the poor.

31. She is independent, even when married or in a relationship. She always has her own thing going on.

32. She speaks eloquently and thoughtfully.

33. She trusts in the Lord with all her heart and does not lean on her own understanding.

34. She is honest in all her dealings with others.

35. She raises her children to love & worship God and to respect others in Christ Jesus. (Our God and Creator in Christ Jesus desires godly offspring, Malachi 2:15.)

36. She maintains good posture and moves gracefully.

37. She humbly and graciously accepts compliments.

38. She is present in every conversation, giving everyone her full attention.

39. She doesn't take other people for granted.

40. She is not argumentative.

41. She admits when she is wrong and sincerely apologizes, taking full accountability for herself.

42. She is patient, kind, and does everything in love.

43. She appreciates hard work.

44. She can accept constructive criticism.
