Six Parenting Magazines That Pay Writers: Earn up to $700 Per Story!

Are you an experienced parent who can share great tips, wisdom, and parenting stories to others around the world? If you are, here are just six parenting magazines that pay writers:

  1. Lies about Parenting: They want articles that are well-researched yet relatable. If you have parenting advice that can help others to parent without them being "overly involved" in their children's lives , then Lies About Parenting is a good place for you to pitch.

  2. PTO Today: Do you have experience as a parent-teacher organization (PTO) volunteer and have something to share with other like-minded parents? If so, you might want to consider writing for PTO Today. The site's audience is mostly women in their late 20s to mid-40s, who are PTO members in K - 8 schools. They tackle topics such as parental participation in schools, leadership, playground projects, fundraising, group management and organization, and education. This magazine pays by assignment and not by word. They don't take assignments from freelancers often but when they do, those assignments run roughly 600 to 1500 words. Payment depends on the level of difficulty and the topic, as well as, the experience of the writer. Their pay scale is from $125 to $500.

  3. Freelance Mom: This is an online community for mothers who aim to carve out an identity separate from motherhood. The blog places in emphasis on freelancing entrepreneurship. All parents can submit personal stories, well-researched articles with stats and expert opinions, and educational articles revolving around useful tools and processes. Be sure to make your guest post article 900 - 1,500 words long and it should contain a 20 to 30-minute action plan at the very end. If your article is accepted, you will be paid anywhere between $75 to $100 via PayPal. I also copied this from their site: "Bonuses! Every month, if your article is at the top of our most shared, you’ll be the winner of a special bonus of $150."

  4. A Fine Parent: This magazine operates on the philosophy that "great parents are made, not born." Articles are aimed toward helping readers become better people and parents. You do not have to be a professional writer, just offer little bits of wisdom based on your own parenting experience. You should take a look at the site before pitching to them. Most articles range from 1,500 to 3,000 words, and payment is $75 per article.

  5. Caroline Parent: This is an award-winning print and digital magazine owned by Morris Media Network. They have been around since 1988. The publication is written for parents, grandparents, and educators living in the Triangle, and it serves as a resource to many.

  6. Motherly: Motherly stories are written in first person and are around 700 - 900 words in length. They are looking for personal stories from mothers sharing in the insights and wisdom you have gained from motherhood. The stories from Motherly help other women to know that they are not alone are never judged.

That does it for this week's list of Six Parenting Magazines That Pay Writers! Please check back every Sunday for a new list.
