Bed bugs are not only an embarrassment, but also an annoyance. Whether you are currently battling a bed bug infestation or you simply want to prevent them. One thing is for sure, it's no easy task!

However, I found a device that not only will effectively help to prevent, manage, and kill bed bugs but it’s also nontoxic, safe, and easy to use.

But first I would like to explain to you a little about bed bugs.

Bed Bugs

Bed bugs in all stages of life: both unfed and fed.

Bed bugs are small apple-seed sized insects that feed on humans during the night or while they sleep. They are extremely difficult to get rid of and their bites can leave itchy and painful bumps. One of the things that make them almost impossible to eradicate is that they are resistant to most insecticides and they multiply extremely fast. They also can hide anywhere and in almost anything; they just don't live in your bed as their name suggest. In addition, these little vampires can survive without feeding on blood for over two years or longer! So if you think you can store your infested belongings in storage in the hopes of killing them -- think again!

Bed bugs usually leave a very distictive bite mark and pattern. It is often extremely itchy and in a pattern of 3's. You most likely will not feel the bite when it happens, because they numb the area first. Most people say the itch is very similar to a mosquito bite.

So What Kills Bed Bugs?

Heat.

Heat is a proven kryptonite for killing bed bugs.  In other words, they will die when exposed to temperatures at 125 degrees Fahrenheit for 90 minutes or more.

For any infested clothing, you can successfully achieve this heating method by washing the garments in hot water at a local laundromat and by using a commercial-sized clothes dryer on high heat for at least 60 minutes. Next, you should tightly seal all washed clothing in plastic trash or storage bags for at least four weeks and then wash and dry them again before wearing. This is very important because bed bug eggs are more heat resistant than the bugs themselves and they are able to survive a wash and dryer and can hatch later. (You definitely don’t want another generation of bugs to emerge.)

The problem with this heating method is that you cannot place other personal and household items in the dryer, such as, books, electronics, leather goods, etc., without ruining them.

This is where the Zappbug Oven 2 comes in:

The Zappbug Oven 2 is a portable bed bug oven, or device, that you can place your personal items in to treat and kill bed bugs at ALL stages of life. This is extremely useful for those who travel a lot, because you can put your luggage in this upon returning home from a trip. It is also an excellent tool to use in adjunction to your existing bed bug treatment.

The Zapp Bug oven uses heat between 120 and 145 degrees Fahrenheit for up to 8 hours.

It's like a slow cooker for bed bugs.

As I have already mentioned before, bed bug eggs are more heat resistant than the bugs themselves; therefore, after the initial treatment, you should seal all items in a plastic bag for four weeks then heat-treat them again, just make sure you throw the plastic bag away afterwards. This will ensure that any new nymphs that may have hatched and survived will be killed so a new generation of bed bugs does not emerge. I can’t stress this enough.

I love this oven: It is so simple and easy to use; it takes me about five minutes or less to set it up and it folds away for storage in its own storage case.

I really could have used this heater a couple of years ago, because I had to discard many sentimental and valuable things after enduring a six-month bed bug infestation.

Thankfully, I no longer have bed bugs, but I have used this heater to treat new clothes that I have purchased from the store and for any packages that I have received in the mail. Bed bugs are excellent hitch hikers and will find their way into your home if you are not careful.

Zappbug warrants their oven to the original purchaser against defects in materials and workmanship for 365 days from the date of purchase.

So before you throw away all of your precious items, or spend a fortune on costly treatments that might not work, you may just want to try the Zappbug Oven 2.
