Here are thirteen things that every Christian woman should keep in her purse:


(You can also put these items in a nice gift bag and give it to another Christian woman with the corresponding Bible verses written on an elegant notecard.)




#1 Candy Kisses:

To keep your speech sweet: "Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones." - Proverbs 16:24.



#2 A Tea Bag:

To relax daily and be thankful: "Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful." - Colossians 3:15.


#3 Toothpick:

To remind you to pick out the good qualities in others: "Do not judge, or you too will be judged." - Matthew 7:1


#4 Rubberband:

To be flexible in every situation. Things might not always go the way you want, but trust in God and He will work it out for you: "I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through Him who gives me strength." - Phillipians 4:12-13



#5 An Eraser:

To know that everyone makes mistakes, and it's okay. No one is perfect, except Jesus Christ: "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." - Romans 3:23. And, "He committed no sin, and no deceit was found in His mouth." 1 Peter 2:22.




#6 A Stick of Chewing Gum:

To "stick with it" and never give up! With God, you can accomplish anything: "Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up." - Galatians 6:9.



 #7 Mints:

To refresh and be refreshed: "A generous person will prosper: whoever refreshes others will be refreshed." - Proverbs 11:25.




#8 A Notebook and Pen:

To list your blessings every day: "Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits - who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems you from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires with good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's" - Psalm:2-5.


#9 A Bandaid:

To remind you that when someone hurts you or crushes your spirit, God will comfort and heal you in Christ Jesus: "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." - Psalm 34:18.





#10 A Small Hourglass or Timer:

1) To remind you to take a "time-out" when needed; When things get rough, as they oftentimes will do, take a deep breath, slowly count to ten (or use a little sand timer), and pray. 2) To allow others to speak, without interruption, while you actively listen: "...Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, because human anger does not produce the righteousness that God desires." - James 1:19-20.


#11 A Handkerchief:

To remind you that God hears your cries during difficult times and He will answer your prayers."...for the Lord has heard my weeping. The Lord has heard my cry for mercy; the Lord accepts my prayer." - Psalm 6:8-9.







#12 A Mini/ Pocket-Sized Holy Bible:

To renew your mind daily in the Word of God: "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - His good, pleasing and perfect will." - Romans 12:2.


#13 A Small Heart:

To remind you that God loves you and He is LOVE: "And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them." - 1 John 4:16.



Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your paths." - Proverbs 3:5-6.
