What's in my bag?

Years ago, when I first went shopping for my work tote, I went on YouTube and viewed as many "What's in my Bag?" videos as possible. Not only did I enjoy viewing the women's beautiful bags, but I also learned about the good products that they were carrying in their handbags.

So, I thought I would "pay it forward" and share with you some of the things I carry in my tote bag. My post might not be as fancy and as interesting as the women on YouTube, but I hope you will enjoy it just the same, or at the very least, learn about a product that can be useful to you.

I've had many of these items for a long time, so I will do my best to tell you where I bought them and how they have held up over the years.

(I am not affiliated with Louis Vuitton)

My bag is the Louis Vuitton Neverfull Damier Ebene GM, the largest of the three sizes. This bag was a gift and was purchased for me at Louis Vuitton in Tysons Corner Galleria Center in McLean, Virginia, several years ago. At the time, I was working a nine-to-five job and needed a bag that could hold all my things without adding extra weight, and this work tote was perfect.

This bag is exactly as the name suggests: it is never full. It holds a lot of stuff, as you will soon see. It is trimmed in natural cowhide and comes with a matching removable zippered pouch. You can easily fit a 15-inch laptop and an iPad in it. At the time of my purchase in 2019, the bag was listed at $1,400; however, the price has nearly doubled in recent years. Here is the bag listed on Louis Vuitton's official website.

I love this bag. It is one of my favorite work totes, and it looks as good as the day I received it. It is extremely lightweight yet sturdy; Louis Vuitton claims that this particular bag was tested to hold a weight up to 200 pounds. I cannot testify to this, but it does hold a lot of things. It can be used as a work tote, a purse, a carry-on bag for travel, a diaper bag, and so much more. This bag can take you from work to dinner with no problem: throw on a nice dress, a string of pearls, and a pair of high heels, and you are good to go! You can also cinch in the sides to give it a more elegant look for a different appearance.

Overall, this bag is "bulletproof" and, if you can afford it, I think it is worth the investment.

God has blessed me with my own writing business and a husband who provides for me, so I no longer work a nine-to-five job, but this bag is still one of my favorite totes for travel. I highly recommend this bag. (It will probably outlive me!)

An alternative to this tote bag is the oversized PU leather weekend travel bag. It has received rave reviews and comes in a variety of colors.

My Louis Vuitton GM came with a matching detachable clutch. I found this useful when I want to make a quick grocery store run or to do laundry. The strap attaches to the clutch, making it a nice wristlet. The clutch is big enough to hold your i.d., a small mirror, a lipstick, dollar bills, and some change.

I found the compact mirror at my local Dollar Store! It is not Louis Vuitton, but it is a perfect match for my Louis Vuitton Damier Ebene tote bag! I absolutely love it!

Currently, the only things I have in my clutch are my handkerchief, compact double mirror, and a safety pin.

This is my Samorga organizer. This is a must-have if you carry a large tote such as mine. Your things can get lost in a bag this size, so an organizer is necessary. I love the pockets for my pens, highlighters, markers, and other essential items. It provides a slot for your laptop or notebooks, and it comes in a variety of colors. It has two holders for your water bottles, thermos, or beverages. I also found this Samorga look-alike for you that has good reviews.

I am a writer at heart; it is my calling. And I love notebooks and journals. Pictured above in the top right corner is my red leather Levenger notebook, and it was literally sent to me by God and His Holy angels. It is a disc notebook, making it easy to remove and replace the pages at your convenience. I use this one for my Bible study and for writing down my favorite Holy Scriptures. I replaced the black discs that came with the notebook with a gold-aluminium disc trifecta. I also replaced the regular paper with gold-gilded edges. The pen is also by Levenger, I believe it is the True Writer Classic Pen with Gold.

In the bottom right corner, there is my vintage diary and journal. I wanted a diary similar to the one I owned when I was a young girl, and God led me to this one. I have always been obsessed with locks and keys. It has special meaning to me. The one I used in my youth actually had a real lock and key, but I was satisfied with this diary that has a combination lock. The journal comes with instructions for setting the code, making it easy for you to set the lock. The journal is also refillable.

The next thing in my bag is my pink S'well water bottle. I love these bottles because they are made from 18/8 food-grade stainless steel. They are BPA and BPS-free, and they have trippled-layered insulation to keep your beverages hot for 18 hours, or cold for 36 hours. I purchased mine directly from the S'well website and had it personalized with my name, but if you are not concerned with that, please visit my storefront. This water bottle makes the perfect companion when you are on the go! This bottle comes in a variety of colors, designs, and sizes.

This is my Louis Vuitton PM cosmetic pouch. I've had this since 2018 (8 years), and it still looks good on the outside, but the inside is showing wear and tear. I love this case, and it has been through a lot. I keep my concealers in here, eyeliners, lipstick, blush, nail clippers, and miscellaneous items. I found a nice alternative that has received excellent feedback. (I wouldn't mind having one myself.) It appears spacious and offers lots of compartments.

This is my Louis Vuitton Zippy Organizer. (I didn't photograph the inside, because of privacy and security concerns). I checked for this wallet on the Louis Vuitton Official website, and I don't think they make this version anymore, but I provided the link anyway. This wallet is a lifesaver! It has 12 slots for my credit cards and i.d., a checkbook holder, a middle zippered compartment for change, a back pocket, a pocket for my bills, and a handy pen holder. This wallet will even hold plane tickets and a passport! I absolutely love it. It's my friend.

I searched for an alternative for you, and I found this nice vegan leather clutch wallet with RFID blocking, a digital blocking material that prevents data theft.

And, of course, I cannot work without all my Apple products: My 9.7-inch iPad Pro (2016 model) in Rose Gold, iPhone XS Max ( 2018 model in Gold), and my 13-inch refurbished MacBook Air that I purchased at Macs4U.com. I do not buy new Apple products every time newer versions are released. All my Apple devices work well for me, and I plan to continue using them until they either fall apart or stop working.

Depending on the travel, I either carry this red leather padfolio by Floto (made in Italy) in my arms, or I put it in my Neverfull. I am a woman of order and organization, and this serves as my portable work station. I also store my iPad in here. Below is a picture of what it looks like when opened. I had Floto personalize mine for me. This version is no longer available, but I found a similar one for you.

To keep myself organized with my business and personal life, I purchased the 2026 Forvencer planner. It contains both a monthly and a weekly view. The size is 8.5 x 11. It has a hard cover. This will be my first time using this planner, so I will update this post at a later date.

The budget book is by Sunee, and this will be my first time using it, too. I will update at a later date. I love keeping track of all my expenses, and this budget book has lots of spreadsheets and pages to do just that.

Additional things I carry with me are my keys, eyeglasses, sunglasses, and gloves.

Well, this concludes my "What's in My Bag?" post. Below is a picture of how everything looks once packed inside my bag. To shop the items in my work tote, please visit my Storefront!
