Home Remedies for Intestinal Parasites

Intestinal parasites include worms and one-celled organisms that reside in the intestinal tracts of human beings to hatch, grow, and thrive.

These parasites can enter the body through contaminated food and water. Their eggs can be transmitted by mosquitoes or they can be picked up by people from the soil.

There are many types of intestinal worms, but only four are harmful to humans: pinworms, tapeworms, roundworms, and whipworms.

Symtoms include diarrhea, vomiting, and abdominal pain. Weight loss is also common. Some people may not experience any symptoms of instestinal parasites for many years, while others will begin to have them as the worms grow. Pinworms will also cause severe itching at night due to the famale laying her eggs around the anus (butthole).

Causes of Intestinal Parasites

  • Consumption of raw or undercooked meat from an infected animal. Some raw fish preparations, particularly sushi, can harbor parasites. Also, if you eat raw or undercooked pork, you could get a tapeworm. You should cook pork at 140 degrees Farenheit or higher to avoid a tapework infection.

  • Consumption of contaminated water

  • Contamination from handling fecal matter or soil

  • Poor personal hygiene and environmental sanitation.

Eight Foods to Kill Intestinal Parasites

  1. Coconut milk: This is one of the best home remedies for intestinal worms and parasites, especially tapeworms. You can make it by crushing the coconut, expelling the unconcentrated milk, and drinking just about a half of cup on an empty stomach. I watched a video of a Latina woman speaking about this on Tik Tok. She said her mother would give them this remedy once a year as children, because tapeworms and other parasites are prevelant in Latin America. This lady calls herself "The Hat Lady" and she said this remedy definitely works! She said after drinking the concentrated coconut milk, her mother would sit them all on a pot in the middle of the room and the worms would come out. Their mother gave them repeated treatments over a course of four days until all the worms were out. She said they looked like a big bowl of speghetti.

  2. Pumpkin seeds: These seeds have known anti-parasitic properties called cucurbitacin. This compound works by paralysing the worms, thereby flushing them out along with the stools. To get the best results, mix a tablespoon of roasted pumpkin seeds with some water and coconut milk (optional). It is recommended to take this mixture every morning on an empty stomach for a least a week.

  3. Garlic: Well known for its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, garlic may also help to remove intestinal worms. You should consume three cloves of raw garlic every day to see the effects. Garlic may even help to prevent future instances of stomach worm infestation. It is considered one of the best natural remedies for intestinal parasites.

  4. Neem: This is a herb from the neem tree and it is famously known for its antimicrobial properties. It can be used as a remedy to remove instestinal parasites by grinding it into a paste and consuming it by mixing it with water in the morning on an empty stomach. You should continue this remedy for a few days to see the results.

  5. Carrots: Carrots are not only rich in fibre, but they may also help in eliminating intestinal worms. You should consume raw carrots on an empty stomach in the morning to get the best results. Eating carrots in the morning on a regular basis not only removes these worms but also prevents future infestations.

  6. Unripe papaya: This is known to be a natural remedy for stomach worms. Papaya and its seeds have anti-amoebic and anthelmintic properties which help to eliminate intestinal parasites without any side effects. You should extract the juice from the papaya and mix it with honey. This drink should be taken first thing in the morning for at least two days to see the effects.

  7. Turmeric: Due to its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties, tumeric can be used to remove all kinds of intestinal worms. It can be consumed in drinks, particulary milk or buttermilk and should be taken daily.

  8. Cloves: Cloves have anti-parasitic and antiseptic properties which can help to eliminate stomach worms and their eggs. To consume in the form of a juice, boil in water, simmering for 5 minutes and then strain the mixture. Let cool, then drink. This remedy should be taken a few times during the week for best results.
